Moving your factory from your local PC to your East Gate Hosting dedicated server is simple. This guide will walk you through locating your local save file and uploading it to the Pterodactyl panel so you can pick up exactly where you left off.

Prerequisites

Step 1: Locate Your Local Save File

First, you need to find the save file on your computer.

  1. Press Windows Key + R on your keyboard.

  2. Type or paste the following code and hit Enter: %localappdata%\FactoryGame\Saved\SaveGames\

  3. You will see a folder with a long string of numbers (this is your Steam/Epic ID). Open it.

  4. Find your save file (e.g., MyMegaBase.sav). Keep this window open.

Step 2: Prepare the Server

  1. Log in to the East Gate Game Panel.

  2. Navigate to your Satisfactory server.

  3. IMPORTANT: Click the Stop button. Never upload files while the server is running, or they may be corrupted.

Step 3: Upload the Save File

  1. On the left-hand menu, click on Files.

  2. Navigate through the folders to this path: .config > Epic > FactoryGame > Saved > SaveGames (Note: If you do not see the .config folder, make sure you have started the server at least once to generate the necessary files).

  3. Inside the SaveGames folder, you may see a folder named server. Open it. If it doesn't exist, you can upload directly into SaveGames.

  4. Drag and drop your .sav file from your computer into this folder.

    • Alternatively, click the "Upload" button in the top right corner and select your file.

Step 4: Load the Save

Now you need to tell the server which save file to load.

  1. Go to the Startup tab on the left-hand menu.

  2. Find the variable labeled Session Name (or SESSION_NAME).

  3. Enter the exact name of your save file without the .sav extension.

    • Example: If your file is MyMegaBase.sav, simply type MyMegaBase.

  4. Go back to the Console tab and click Start.

Your server will now launch using your uploaded world!

Troubleshooting

  • "I can't see the .config folder": In some Pterodactyl configurations, hidden files (starting with a dot) might be hidden. Ensure your File Manager settings allow viewing hidden files, or use an SFTP client like FileZilla to browse the server files.

  • "The server created a new world": Double-check the spelling in the Startup tab. It must match the filename exactly (case-sensitive).
